Having successfully run the delayed Cowes Spring Classics in September 2020, we are looking forward to seeing everyone in 2021. Due to the current situation we have taken the decision to move the date to 20 - 22 August 2021.
Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK's longest running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for around 1,000 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.
Welcome to British Classic Week, the premier classic yacht regatta in the UK. The annual Regatta of the BRITISH CLASSIC YACHT CLUB will see the 19th edition in 2021.
Welcome to the Classic Channel Regatta – a unique week long international event with its own distinctive and varied blend of racing round the cans at Dartmouth, passage racing across the Channel, and racing round an island in Brittany – all with a lively and informal programme ashore which brings together a wonderful gathering of boats and crews.
Cowes Classics Week is all about racing traditional yachts on the water and enjoying fabulous social events ashore. Metre boats, Classic Racing Dayboats, Classic Yachts, Old Gaffers and Spirit of Tradition Yachts are all welcome to sail varied courses set in the Solent with free high teas, great value parties and suppers at different club venues. There are daily prize giving events, all with free tea and cake plus a gala awards ceremony to celebrate the sailing.
Founded in 2002, the SYH Classic Regatta is now firmly established in the UK classic yachting calendar as the largest event of its kind on the east coast. Following popular demand, this year’s regatta will include an additional race on Friday evening and for the first time is inviting classic motor yachts to attend.
The regatta is the largest event of its kind for classic yachts on the east coast and attracts a fleet of both local and visiting sailors from as far afield as the Channel Islands. The event welcomes everyone from keen racers to social sailors to compete in the fast, slow and Stella classes.
Entry criteria for the regatta requires yachts to be either pre-1970 design of traditional construction, Bermuda or gaff rigged and built of wood or steel. Modern classic yachts with wooden or steel hulls are also welcome. Visit www.syhclassicregatta.co.uk for online entry and further details.
The Annual General Meeting will be replaced by a Zoom meeting.
November 13th @ 18.30
